Saw Chu Cil

From 1982 until 1985, Saw Chu Cil attended Rangoon School of Fine Art in Burma. His teachers were Oo Win, Oo Thu Kha, Oo Win Hpe Miynt and Daw Miynt Miynt Tin.

In 1997, he had an exhibition at the 77 Art Gallery in Rangoon. One year later he exhibited at the National Museum in Rangoon and in 1999 his work could be seen at the Rangoon's City Gallery.

'I want to show the beauty of nature that I know so well. I want to use colour to show the power of light.'

'The colour of the morning dawn gives me hope. The colour of the sunset is the beauty I am looking to capture in my art'.

Chu Cil's favourite mediums are watercolour and acrylic, and he uses what he calls 'sweet colours'. Together with the people he loves, he hopes to continue to create more art.
